Thanksgiving!

First and foremost, i want to say I am thankful for my mother who taught me how to cook! Thanks mom! I did it! I made my own thanksgiving dinner on my own,(with a little help from my mom over the phone) and help from Bryson with the rolls. This originally was not going to happen, however we won a 15 lb turkey from our appartment complex for turning in an information sheet early. FREE food! Can't go wrong there. Anyways, so after i thawed out the turkey, pulled out the neck, heart, liver, and all that good stuff...i placed sea salt in between the skin and the meat of the turkey. A little tricky and i made a few holes in the skin, but it worked. Then, to make the meat extra tender...place the breast down in the pan. While the turkey was baking in the oven, i prepped the green bean caserole to go in the oven. Bryson helped me peal the potatoes and i got to work on making finishing touches on the 2 pies i made yesterday. Pumpkin and Apple! Anyways, all in all it was a really good turn out as far as the food is concerned. The only thing that i will add next year (should i need to make dinner again) would be to add a craberry relish. That would have been so good with the turkey this year. We topped it off with Black Cherry Soda! Plus pie...got to have the pie! Bryson's dad came down and had dinner with us at 3 o'clock. After dinner we watched A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. Bryson and I took Caely to the park across the street from us and let her run around and burn some energy. Anyways, it is now 8:20 pm, and she is just going down for the night. It feels like it is supper late here, but i guess that is what happens during the winter esp. when the sun goes down so early. I'm not even going to try and brave the malls this year with Caely. She is a handful even when there is no supper sale black friday rush. Call me crazy, or maybe i am just supper SMART! =) Most of my shopping was done online this year anyways. Just a few more people to shop for. Can't wait till Saturday to burn some of this meal off! So got to get back into shape...i can't keep skipping workouts.
